It’s the number of homes under contract in Coralville that are the highlight of this month’s market snapshot of the Coralville real estate market…. Again. 89 homes are currently showing as contingent or pending on the Iowa City Area MLS. As you can see infographic below, the homes under contract make up a good portion of the pie chart. 43% of the homes listed have accepted offers, (and those are the listings where agents have reported the status changes, there are likely to be some homes that don’t show up yet).
Home Sales this month may or may not beat last year’s numbers. 10 homes could sell in two days with the last day of the month being a big day for closings, but since I don’t have a crystal ball and I know there’s a shortage of inventory of homes for buyers to buy, I’m not going to call it. Especially not based on the first 4 months of this year – As active as the real estate market is in the Iowa City area, the lack of choices for home buyers has had an impact on home sales this year in all the areas I follow – Coralville, Iowa City, and North Liberty. We really need more sellers to get into the game!
