Pictures – Sand in the City Weekend 2010

The rain had little to no impact on this year’s Sand in the City event in Iowa City. Resourceful Iowans were able to save their sand sculptures from the rains on Friday and the weekend continued with sunshine and temperatures in the 90′s. On Sunday afternoon I showed up just in time to catch an excellent performance by the all male Capella, Intersection. Right after that I took some photos of the wonderful sand sculptures from the Sand Sculpting Competition. Check them out… I’m sure there are seaside towns that would love a visit from these guys. All proof that there’s no shortage of creativity in Iowa City.
