Relocating to Iowa City: Another Resource to Research Iowa City Schools

Next to looking for homes for sale I know that buyers relocating to Iowa City are also looking for information about schools and lifestyles. To this end I’ve added a very classy community tool to my website that I hope helps buyers relocating to Iowa City to get a better feel for the Iowa City area. Through the search in the side panel you can research all kinds of things, ranging from schools, golf courses, coffee shops and a whole lot more to get a real feel for the Iowa City area.

To give you an idea of how the community tool works I created the map of schools in Iowa City below. I know  schools are high on the list of priorities for buyers relocating to Iowa City, this search is for elementary schools in the Iowa City area. The light blue shaded area indicates a half mile radius from the school. The map is for schools in Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty and Tiffin with boundary lines around each town. When you click on the boundary lines you’ll get info about the town,  If you click on the individual schools you’ll get a wealth of information about the schools.

When you click on the markers below you’ll find the address for the school, along with phone number and a link to the website. It’s a good idea if you’re relocating to Iowa City to visit a couple of the schools to get a feel for the area. As is typical for this corner of the Midwest they will welcome your visit!

Map of Public Schools in the Iowa City School District

Schools we know are close to the top of the list of priorities for folks relocating. That’s an excellent reason to update my maps and make them more user friendly… Below is a map of the public schools in Iowa City. I have color coded the markers based on location, (Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty and Hills) and then type of school. When you click on the markers you’ll find the address for the school, phone number and a link to their website. If you want to get a better idea of distance here’s a link to a full page version. With more space the zoom function works a whole lot better.

Public Schools in the Clear Creek Amana School District

When you’re relocating, information about schools is close to the top of your list. It makes sense that before deciding where to live you want to know where the schools are. That’s why I came up with the idea of creating interactive maps showing schools in the Iowa City area. This link is to Public Schools in the Clear Creek Amana School District. I’ve color coded the markers according to the type of school. (Orange for elementary schools). And when you click on the markers you’ll find the address, phone number and a link to the website for the schools.

Private Schools in Iowa City & Coralville: Map & Contact Info

When you’re relocating and have no idea about the lay of the land, figuring out where schools are at is a challenge. There’s plenty of information out there about schools, it’s just pulling it together that is the challenge. In an effort to do just that – to pull information together – I’ve put together a few posts about schools. Below is the list to private schools in Iowa City and Coralville and here’s  a link to a map of private schools in the area with detailed data from the public records.

Willowind.org		Willowwind is a private elementary and pre-school for children ages 3 to 12. It is well known in the area for its innovative approach to education.

 

Hillside Christian School

PrivateSchoolReview		Hillside is a small Christian school with no specific denomination. The focus is on providing a learning environment in a family atmosphere. Grades offered are Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
